Inverness at the head of Loch Ness is 155miles or 250 kilometres from Edinburgh. The best way to go by road is via the M90 then the A9 straight to Inverness. I would allow at least three and a half hours driving time for the trip. If you go by rail, it should take you also about 3.5 hours.

If you are looking for Loch Ness exhibitions and things relating to the monster, you should visit Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness. Follow the A82 from Inverness, it is well signed. There is also a bus service from Inverness.

There is also a tourist information site http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/areafaug/index.html

Roughly 100miles. I've been a lot to Scotland but I'm honestly not too sure, but around that.
