Something sprayable that is not so poisonous to keep ants out of and away from my cats' food bowls. Something to spray around the area where they eat outside. I worry about them stepping on concrete that has been sprayed with poisonous chemicals.

I believe that I have a good answer for you ! Try spraying some (White Vineger) ... Put some White Vineger in a (Spray Bottle) & those (Pesky Ants) should ga away for a good while... Before you Spray this White Vinager, remove the (Cat Bowls) away & then after about five minutes or so-put the cat Bowls back around where you Sprayed & believe me - those Ants litteraly (HATE) White Vinager & My Animals are alot more happier w/those pesky Ants gone... Sometimes you will have to Spray a couple of times to (Discourage) those Ants from comeing back. Try it,You'll like it !!! rumeoui !

I had the same problem with my out side cat, after experimenting with several ideas only one really worked well (no chemicals). Buy a chip and dip dish where the dip goes into the middle of the dish, you should be able to find a bowl that will fit in the center and fill with your cats favorite food and fill the chip area with water, ants can't swim so they can't get into the food, just be sure to add water when needed to keep the ants out.

properly...to be honest, I by no skill figured that one out. I frequently basically wait it out. i assume you should place some dogs foodstuff or different foodstuff in a distinctive region than the bowl so the ants circulate there....? i detect that the ants frequently circulate away the foodstuff on my own after a pair of weeks. i assume you should purchase ant traps or unload cleansing soap on them. however the cleansing soap is messy....it rather works nonetheless! or you additionally can attempt patching up the hollow they're coming from. you may ought to...properly, some ants stay on your sink and you do no longer even comprehend it. that's what handed off as quickly as at our abode. What we did, nonetheless, replaced into fill the sink up with water and circulate away it like that for an afternoon after which we discovered that thousands of ants had drowned interior the water! So it replaced into actual; ants have been residing decrease than our sink! attempt it...it ought to paintings! you additionally can basically circulate away the sink crammed once you're dozing too. this is as quickly as we did it. wish I helped somewhat!

Chaulk (as in blackboard chaulk) on concreete or brick will keep most ants away. But you have to reapply it quite often. I have also used cinnamon sprinkled in a 'fence line' , ants do not like it and most won't cross--it is only good until the next rain. The generous use of plain white vinegar on ant hills- usually kills or scares away every ant in the ant hill.
Thay is all I have in my mind that will not hurt the cats.

where's the food dishes? why are they outside?

if you're providing the food source of course the ants will come alongside with other insects and then animals.

don't invite trouble, keep the food inside.
