I had an interview this morning. At the end the guy said he would give me an offer by the end of the week. In this case should I still send a thank you letter? If so over e-mail or mail seeing as how mail may be slower than an offer?

Do you want to make him feel good about his decision or not? Answer that question to answer your own.

Do both. E-mail for the immediate reaction and a nice Card/Letter for the long term result.

i would say email him a nice professional-type e-card before the offer is made. the thank you card is supposed to help you land the position. i dont think it would do much good to send it after the offer is made. actually, ive personally never even sent a thank you card and ive still gotten the job.

Yes, you still need to send a thank you letter. Email is fine since the time frame is so short.

Wait until you actually get the offer.
