If you get at tattoo and than lose say 20 lbs. or more would it effect the tattoo?

Probably so, the skin will change. Aging will also effect it. Think it over, once you get one...it is part of you and your body changes.

Depends on where the tattoo is and how fast you gain or lose the weight. Some fair better than others. Belly tattoos tend to take the brunt of the distortion due mostly to pregnancy. But most damage can be diminished or avoided by taking good care of the tattoo i.e. vitamin E oil/lotion or similar products.

It depends on the location of the tattoo and the area where the weight is lost.

It shouldn't if you don't lose so much so fast that your skin sags. I had 3 tattoo's before I had kids. And except for having to have the color touched up, I never had any problems.
