We got into an argument and I told him to "stop acting like Bush”, now he wouldn’t speak to me. This is the worst thing I’ve ever called him. How should I make it upto him?

Ouch, that's brutal but it can be fixed. Explain to him that as a good and compassionate American you've watched as our country has disintegrated during the last 6 years and it has taken a toll on you personally. Tell him you're sorry and wisk him off to a quaint S.B. bed & breakfast for the weekend, call ahead before you get there and ask the staff to have a bottle of Cristal on ice as you arrive, make a toast saying how much he means to you, you can take it from there. He'll be putty in your hands. Bush? Bush who?

Tell him you merely meant that you wanted him to act more like Clinton while you play the role of Monica Lewinsky. That should add a little humor to the situation and also make him smile. Better be prepared to follow through though.

He will get over it, if my gf said that to me I would of started laughing. I am a Canadian though. Why do people blame bush, bush is only one person in the government. He can not really make any choices without his govt backing him, He will get over it.

He probably hates Bush..
Maybe a bottle of beer, some grilled meat or fish to come up with, then make love..
I guess that will remove the tension from him..

Good question , give him time to cool down , maybe a nice supper with an apology card beside his plate for him to find..And an apology direct from you,he may not seem to accept it but he will cool down..Good Luck

One of the rules to arguing effectively is to not name call. So apologize to him and say you were wrong to call him this name. Then do something special for him that is meaningful for you two.
