Who are the people that bother to answer questions they are offended by. Why don they simply choose from the vast selection of intelligent, well thought out ones, that are boring?

They are the people who are not happy unless they're pissed off about something. They look for questions that make them angry and then tee off on the questioner.
They see everything in black and white. There is no gray to be found. They're right, you're wrong, and they'll continue to call you names & report you until you agree with them. It beats actually having to come up with a coherent argument now, doesn't it?

I can get 2 points for pointing out how stupid a question is, and no one says I am obligated to answer it. I wouldn't want to do that all the time, but sometimes I just have to take a break from the serious, intelligent, well thought out questions, that are (sometimes) boring. =)

The ones that make a point of slamming questions they find disgusting must feel a need to hear themselves speak. Otherwise the only other reason to do it is to hide from the fact that it has touched a nerve with respect to something that bothers them about themselves. Of course this is just one guy's opinion.

I agree with you completely. If I don't get a question, I don't answer it. Maybe when I ask something I could be more specific, but honestly I've been here for a while and I know who many of the regulars are, and plenty of them know what kind of questions I will ask.

They are the people who are right. They know that the world would be perfect if it were run their way and they stop by to criticise your questions because they want you to take the blame for everything that's wrong.
