the truth, shallow people may care, but who wants to know them anyhow? My cousin has a lazy eye and after a while you never notice anymore.

my wife has one since early childhood and, as technology minded people, we are constantly watching the evolving state of medical science as it approaches the ability to better deal with the neurological re-wiring needed to reverse this (presumably temporary) condition. people like Christopher Reeves have been instrumental in advancing the cause of spinal and brain related science, and with this being declared the century of brain science, it should be a matter of 5-10 years before this condition is able to be reversed. So, the answer is no, most people should care only to the extent that helping their fellow human be more empowered and independent is good, otherwise its none of their business.
