my daughter is 8 and has so much homework some nights that she must work on it WHILE she eats her dinner!

i have given serious thought to just doing it for her

i talked to her teacher about it, because she brought home a ton of homework the first week of school & they say its because they must go over so many things that the government issues.

it feels like kids aren't being allowed to be kids anymore

Well hate is a strong word to devote for homework but it does take a large chunk of my time to help my son and they do give too much to these children now c'mon they want you to be able to read now in kindergarten and 1st grade that's just too much

No. I still enjoy helping my two children (both are in their late teens now) with their homework... I always have. It not only helps them learn their work, it shows you what your children are learning in school. Plus if you don't know the answer yourself, you learn about if by helping your children research the questions!

Well, I haven't gotten there yet with my 2 little ones, but I'm not worried at all. My wife is a 4th grade teacher. Thank goodness. I'm as dumb as a log.
