I vote for Reaper b/c of the references to witchcraft, R&J, magic, and suicide. Stairway is sexist - makes fun of women ("...the stores are all closed...") But both have such great music.

I vote for D.F.t.R., but damn, we need more cowbell!!!

Seriously though, great song! The references you mention are very powerful, and the way it's performed, it's got both a softness and an intensity that I find almost hypnotic.

I would say both. Stairway is an awesome song, so melodic and deep. (not to mention the kick @$$ guitar!) I love it how the song builds and builds until the end. And Dont Fear The Reaper is very catchy so anyone could get into it. I love all the little "references" made that most people dont get. It makes me smile when I see people sing it all cheerful not knowing its real meaning!! lol and the cowbell rocks!!!

"don't fear the reaper" is really a great songs, with many late covers, but for me "stairway to heaven" is the real classic of all the times
