You'll never really know for sure. Ask where you got him from. If you got him from a pet store, more than likely he's a little smaller than what he should be. For example, a dragon 8 inches long could be anywhere from 2-6 months. Usually 2 is good for an 8 inch beardie, but with a lot of pet store feeding habits and care the dragon is usually smaller than what he/she could be. If the pet store or where ever you got him from can't tell you, you can guess by the link I provided below. Hope this helps.
