I have been feeling so blue lately, cramps for no stinking reason, spotting off and on, but I still have a regular monthly. Can the older ladies clue me in? As for the feeling of blue, this is just horrible! And sometimes I heat up at the drop of a hat.

I am 45 and two years ago or so, I was sooooo depressed I had to go on anti-depressants. Didn't think much about that other than the obvious, which was that I was lonely etc. That was what? 43 I suppose. Then it seemed to me like I wasn't having any periods; my moods were really erratic (I didn't notice lol) and My Daughters started teasing me about being menopausal. I HATED THAT! Being teased - likely cause I knew they were bang on . . . . and yes my Mother even told me I was . . .

You are right the self-heating is horrid.

So I am willing to bet my change started at about 43, which is FAR TOO YOUNG for this crap!

another cheerful note? My Mom has advised me that this can last for years . . .uh oh . . .

I have just started taking HRT and am hoping to be off the anti-depressants soon. The estrogen seems to help with the moods & the power surges.

Please do see your doctor to have your hormone levels tested and discuss your symptoms.

Good luck to you . . .oh and something to make you smile . . .

My change began when I was 42. Spotting off and on and then my periods just stopped. I did have some hot flashes and sometimes felt faint. I'm sure there are some really good sights on the net. that you could look up, or go to your Gyn. Best to you.

It sounds like you could in menopause. Mine began when I was about 44. It's difficult to say for sure when it started but I began getting the symptoms you've described. Go to your GYN and get the blood test to find out if you are peri-menopausal. You also need to discuss what the best way to handle your symptoms may be. I've used several things both natural and synthetic. Natural has worked best for me.

I am not much older than you probably. but-
I know that exercise is suppose to replace what it is that you are lacking hormone-wise. try riding a bike- walking- swimming or playing a fun outdoor game. any thing that will increase your heart rate for a minimum of 30 min. Oh and have fun doing it!!!

Regular 28 day periods till I had breast cancer surgery at age 53 - Then nothing at all but the hot flashes that started when the anti cancer drug did.
