Marine geography too. Saw a guy who did this on the history channel. He and his team took cores from the sea floor off the Pacific Northwest coast and studied the layers of mud and ash to determine how many earthquakes hit the region in the last 10,000 years and how big they were. Probably lots of jobs in earthquake prone areas.
