My mom and I were making fun of her stretch marks on her back and she said that the only way she could rid of them is to have a large tattoo across her lower back. . . we were just joking around but is that actually possible. . . to cover the stretch marks with a tattoo?

NO..No..No...you CAN get a tattoo over your stretch marks, and they will cover them AS LONG as your stretch marks aren't huge in width cuz that might not look good.I did it and it came out fine (and it DOES NOT bleed bad, like the girl above said)

I was watching Miami Ink and saw a woman who had a scar covered by a tattoo. It was a large tattoo but the artist worked around it and when he was done it looked very good. So I would assume that stretch marks are doable. But you would need a very good artist willing to do it.

Possible. But very stupid. Tattoos over stretch marks lead to lots of bleeding and therefore and bad tattoo. I am the happy owner of one tattoo and a few small stretch marks. My stretch marks are very minor and my award winning tattoo artist said he'd never give me bad work and therefore would never tattoo over a stretch mark. Its just a bad idea.

I wouldn't do it... While it may cover them...if you gain weight or lose weight it will ruin the tattoo that is why they tell women not to get them done on their tummies till after all child birthing is done...

The tattoo would make them less noticable because of the art work.. But it's not going to make them go away.
