Although Son of _______ was a pretty lame excuse for a sequel, it does not use a number. So far nacmanpriscasellers is ahead with his reminder of The Godfather 2 from 1974 is in the lead.

The Godfather II came out in 1974, the year before The French Connection II. Jaws II was 1978; Superman II was 1980.
