I've re-read the article and it says Aziz was received a suspended sentence and was also banned for three months.

That story is an absolute classic.
Not only has this guy got no eyes but he is practically deaf, has only two fingers on his right hand and suffers with leg tremors.
His passenger was banned from driving.
This has all the ingredients for a classic comedy sketch.
I laughed my head off when i read it.
No they are not allowed to drive which is in itself another classic as they banned him from driving for 3 years, perhaps they expect him to grow his eyes back.
Can you imagine the situation, his passenger must have had a death wish.
The look on that policeman's face must have been a picture when he took off his sunglasses

Being a disabled driver myself, I know that ALL disabilities should be declared by law to the DVLA. The fact that this man has only had a short ban rather than a life ban should get people questioning what the judge in this case was actually thinking. After all the man will still be blind after the ban ends so is he really entitled to get back behind the wheel? If the law does its job correctly then no he won't.

I am blind of one eye and am not allowed to drive (Brazilian law).
Both eyes is a no no universally. Although I watched a tape of the
great singer Bocelli, who is totally blind, riding his horse (who was
not blind) and riding a bike on a highway, and even taking over the
driver‘s seat on a motorbike with his friend hanging on (in complete
panic). These are not jokes as I have the utmost respect for the man
who showed me and, perhaps, many others what the mind can do
to get the hindered leading a normal life. I certainly will not dare to try
any of his stunts! And his singing, all I can say that, apart from his
voice, his full heart and soul is present like no other has ever shown.

No, you have to be able to read a number plate at 20 meters, or something to that effect. Wee the usual sentence for serious driving offences it a ban of some length, doesn't matter if you can or do drive. I knew someone who got a driving ban at 16, he wasn't even driving but a passenger in a stolen car, he has never learned to drive and has no intention of doing so.

i might want to assert no. This has brought about truly an uproar contained in the blind community with very valid factors on each part of the argument. so some distance as i'm in contact, we'd want to continuously be operating to invent more desirable daily residing aids for the blind that could be placed into sturdy, criminal use at cutting-edge with out controversy. The Perkins Brailler replaced into basically those days changed which may were the first a lot-mandatory makeover in view that its invention contained in the '50s. for sure, you may want to continuously get a HumanWare digital Brailler that still has song, internet, and different great technological features...for more desirable than 5,000 money it is out the funds of ninety 9% of the blind people i know. 1/2 of u . s . a . can't actually have sufficient money eco-friendly vehicles, what makes us imagine that a vehicle for blind people might want to be truly low priced and integrated into the community? in my opinion, the money may be more desirable proper spent elsewhere.
