You could be a "one night stand." All you need is a lamp shade, a t-shirt, a sturdy piece of card board, some material, a alarm clock or book to add some detail.
Cut the a whole in the middle of a piece of sturdy card board, this will fit around your waist. Hot glue the material around the edge of the card board as a table cloth. Glue down a alarm clock, book, anything you would find on a night stand. Then paint a big number "1" on your t-shirt and wear a lamp shade on your head. Tada : a one night stand

You can do a good Frankenstein quite easily and cheaply. You just need an old pair of trousers you can cut up a dark coloured t-shirt and a dark jacket that's too big for you. Then you paint a couple of shoe boxes black and put them on your feet upside-down (with your feet through a cut out hole) and find a box that fits your head quite tightly, paint your face and the box green and stick a black wig on top of the box.
You did say quick and simple and I've seen it done and it can look good/funny if you take the time to do it properly. I don't think you'd win any prizes though. Happy haunting (when it gets here in a month and a half that is LOL).

A few years ago, the big hit was a priest with a small boy attached to his pinga but you could dress as mickle jockson as a variation on a theme. A lot of guys take the opportunity to dress as a girl and a surprisingly large number find it very enjoyable.
