Unfortunately there is not a standard set of abbreviations for knitting. Check your pattern for a glossary or definition of abbreviations. B could mean bobble, or knit into the back loop, or perhaps something else.

You should really find out from the book or where ever you got the pattern. It could be a bobble, usually if more than 1 color is used they list em' as mc-cc-cc1-cc2, sometimes they're also a-b-c. Maybe if beads or buttons are being used the B could be telling you where to place them. I'd really suggest going back to the source, thats your best bet. Good luck on figuring it out.

I would say check with the book/pattern you are using to knit with it should tell you what it is. If not try to ask a local crafts store.

B is for back. It shows it in my knitting book, yet I just searched on google and they didn't have 'b' in the abbreviations list.
