I have asked a friend for tutoring me. She is also my ex-classmate, who graduated from a Master's program which I have been also and have struggled with understanding some materials. Although she does not have a career as a tutor, her explanation helped me to understand materials when we took a same course. This time I am asking her to tutor me regularly, and I'm wondering how much would be a decent amount to pay her as a tutoring fee. Any suggestions?

how long does it take for her to prepare the materials for you?

does she have any teaching experiences?

in your heart, what would be a good amount to pay her?
I'm sure she would be ok to accept any amount as long as it's done with sincerity.

If you are not wealthy, $15p/h would be decent.

Since she is a friend. I think $10.00 an hour would be good. My aunt works as a tutor and she charges anywhere from $15.00-$20.00 an hour. So a 50% discount among friends should be perfect!

I believe a rough average is about $50/hr.
