Like many Italian players. Like many pro players in every league. Lots of players trash talk and play cheap. At Chelsea just look to Carvalho and Asier del Horno (in recollection now that he's gone) for players who push the envelope. Same goes for Drogba. People that know the game don't look at Materazzi any differently than any other player who shows poor sportsmanship - just another hack who lacks pure confidence in his ability so he looks to every angle to get an edge.

i dont trust the ban on Materazzi because i dont imagine he suggested something that constitutes the reaction Zidane gave. although if Materazzi did provoke Zidane, Zidane must have had the self administration no longer to bypass butt yet another participant because he has been taking area in for see you later he must be used to heckling with the help of now.

He will be remembered as the main player of the worldcup final 2006, as he was responsible for the penalty from which france scored a goal, the himself equalised by scoring a goal and at last he was the reason for sending france captain out.

As the reason Italy won the World Cup in 2006. (Scored and got Zidane red-carded).
Also, he'll be remembered as a very agressive and violent player.
And oh yeah, the guy Zidane headbutted.

Someone who doesn't respect someone's mother, sister and someone who most certainly don't respect football. And who every frenchmen thinks is responsible for taking away that dream of win the world cup. Really, he should have thought before saying anything on the pitch. He needs to learn some manners.

after a very very long time (i'm thinking like 20-30 years after this) he probably will be more famously known as either:
the guy who provoked zizou at a worldcup final
or
the guy who got a headbutt from zizou
