It was two bi-partisan committees who recommended to the House and Senate who voted overwhelmingly beyond a supermajority of both houses of congress to go to war. Bush alone did not craft or concoct the tales that we all heard that inspired a nation to go to war.

Not Bush alone, but also Rumsfield, Cheney and Rice.
I was wondering how the most advanced nation on earth could
have fallen victim to those opportunists.
Look at the carnage they created in the Middle East, dragging
the whole of Europe in the conflict.
Thousands getting killed, not including those suffering mental
and physical damages.
And then using their brethren in Israel to attack a sovereign
country, once more, destroying the infra-structure
of Lebanon.
Spewing death to hundreds of thousands of people, for such crimes they once tried the Nazis.
Creating a terror fright all around the world, which, before
was hitherto unknown.
Creating a mass hysteria in the U.S. and elsewhere by creating
"red" and "orange" alarms alternatively, continiously.
This hypothesis will eventualy be so embedded in the minds of
people that we must be afraid to leave our home.
Is this what they wanted? Maybe.
Above all, somebody somewhere is benefitting from all this :
the arms industry, the oil industry and the powerful media
amongst others.

Lies? Or did he get bad information that he passed along?
Pretty difficult to tell at the time. The only reason you liberal wonks call it lies is because the statements have not proven out over time.
All you wild-eyed liberals can rant all you want, but it will take Congress to impeach and try the President. Until then, how 'bout a nice hot cup of STFU?
Thanks for two cheesy points.

I don't know that he told any lies. He may have been given false information, but he was not alone in this. Many different intelligence agencies said there were WMD. Anyway, I think we should go after the crazies wherever they are if they threaten our country.

Sadaam said he wasn't/isn't a friend of bin laden and never planned to attack us. He is a terrorist and you believe him. He terrorized his own country with threats and killed hundreds of thousands with WMD's. Poison is a WMD in case you didn't know.Japan & Germany never planned to attack the U.S. either. Don't believe every liberal media outlet that reports anti-Bush propoganda.

bush should be tried convicted and sentenced for treason, war crimes, misuse of office and political power, unlawful detainment, UN violations, the list goes on and most of what he should be tried for carries the death penalty. being from Texas, he should know all about that. like the woman he let be put to death while serving in the Govorners office in Texas years ago, she was the first woman to be put to death since the civil war and it was on bush's watch. he was quoted as saying that she was getting what she deserved! this from mr. no stem cell research and no abortion! and you are exactly correct, saddam was no friend to Bin Laden, there were no WMD's, and no plan of attack or plan of exit for "his war"

Both he and Cheney should be tried for treason and war crimes. I just ordered a copy of the Senate Report that was released Friday PROVING both Bush & Cheney lied & misled congress when they said very openly and publcly that there were definite links between Al Qaeda & Saddam.
Because of Bush & Cheney lies, over 2500 US servicemen/women are dead... over 100,000 Iraqis are dead, and now there is civil war in Iraq.
I will be spearheading a campain to impeach both, and then bring them to trial. First, I have to get my copy of the report. Stay tuned!

Lets hang all the congress man and woman who voted in favor of the war on terror. In the first vote, not after John Kerry flipped flopped. Since taking a sick f*ck head like Saddam out of power was such a horrible thing.

Maybe today is not the day for such things. Perhaps for today and just for today we should all stop trying to bash each others political views and take a day to remember something. I don't know if anyone on here will take this to heart but, it's just a thought and a suggestion. So, if you feel like some things are more important, no matter which side of the political field you throw yourself on, please, just take today off from what typically happens on this site.

simple answer:
YES
although our system of gov't protects politicians from prosecution to a degree - thank God - imagine the gridlock in gov't were each person able to bring class action lawsuits against politicians - ugh
but the congress is responsible for oversight of the whitehouse and it's actions - the congress has been complacent and therefore derelicts in their duty to represent their constituency and in their responsibility of presidential oversight
PARAMOUNT is a massive Democrat takeover in Congress in November - also great would be a Democrat takeover in Senate so that justice can be brought against Duhbya and his GOP
