Sometimes, actually they don't.
That is called an imperforate hymen.
Most of the time, women with unbroken hymens still have enough room to expel the blood from their periods, but the ones with the imperforate hymens sometimes do not.

Yes, under normal circumstances all post pubescent women have periods. The hymen has a natural hole in it for fluids to drain, although if you have a smaller hymen opening and get clots, you can get "clogged". This generally involves taking birth control to lighten the flow and reduce clotting or the medical breaking of the hymen as undrained menstral blood can cause severe infections.

If you look at these diagrams in the above link, you can see the perforations, all but the last one (parous introitus) are intact (unbroken) hymen.

Yes they do.....the hymen has a split/flap that allows discharge to pass. The hymen is broken by intercourse or even with the introduction of blunt objects say for example during an examination.

yes of course they do,the hymen is a small muscle like section that gets enlarged(broken)normally during your first sexual intercourse experience, it normally bleed and can be painfull for a wek or so,,
your period discharge form the womb will pass through with or without the hymen .
