The only time I've ever reported anyone is when they are inciting hate by being racist or violent with their speech. Those people are just being stupid and abusing the privilege of the internet to spread their hate. There's no reason for that other than stupidity and I feel they should have that privilege taken away. There are probably those who report others who have different opinions than them, but those fools are just ignorant.

I have never reported anyone, but have been reported many times. Usually when I have something to say that they do not agree with. Isn't that the whole point of questions and answers though? Seeing other people's points of view? It's just childish and annoying.

I have. It's not pathetic to stand up for a few rules of decency. Some people are so vile they need to be disciplined, then maybe they'll learn to conduct themselves in a civil manner, and the whole world will be a nicer place.

I have, but only when the insults are personal &/or obscene, like saying "you stupid republitard c*nt" or some such.
General nastiness is to be expected. . . and should be ignored by the truly mature, rather than tattled on.
