If you read the contract terms and conditions, it's based on the laws of "Nevis", they can charge you arbitrary fees every time you have a transaction, if anyone steals your account they have no liability or culpability, and it's run by some doctor in Florida - hello, what does this tell you?

As far as I know, egold is not an online scam. You can find websites out there that accept egold- usually there is an egold logo on the site somewhere indicating that merchant's willingness to accept it.
