Foundation brushes are great- they use less product than sponges, keep your foundation from getting oils and dirt in them the way fingers can, and give smooth, even coverage. Just be sure to use a brush that is made for foundation application. You can't substitute another brush for this. I like to pour out a little bit into my CLEAN hand (you'll figure out how much as you go) and pick up a little with the tip of the brush. Don't scoop it all up- a little goes a long, long way! You can always go back and pick up more. Then you can start "painting". Don't overwork it, but do use long, even strokes. Practice makes perfect. A clean brush deposits the foundation better than one that has dried makeup on it. This is important if you don't think you'll clean it every 2-3 uses at least. Waterproof or long-lasting makeup requires that you clean your brush with the same cleanser you use to take the makeup off your face, and it needs to be done EVERY time, or your brush will not work well. There's no trick to foundation brushes, just practice.Get the best you can and it will last a long time with proper care.

Dot liquid foundation on your face and use the brush to blend into skin. Brush downward for a smooth flawless finish. Any other stroke will make you look streaky.
A foundation brush feels more hygienic than fingers and does not absorb as much product as the sponge. Finish is more even as well

I like a brush around my eyes, but I find fingers do smooth foundation better. Foundation brushes will get hard fast, you have to wash them after every use.
