Why is a child going to a chiropractor? How old is this child? Was this treatment recommended by his/her normal physician?

If your child is hurting for 2-3 days after each visit to a chiropractor then 1 of 2 things is true.

Either the child is not so healthy or the chiropractor is not good, or both.

This question raises too many questions such as how old is the child, why is he/she seeing a chiropractor, and have you mentioned this to the chiropractor? what did they say about it? Was he screened for conditions that could cause these symptoms and has the chiropractor been specially trained to work on children.

Chiropractic care can be safe for children. My child recieves chiropractic care and is healthier because of it. His chiropractor is very gentle.

Withotu knowing more about your situation though, the answer is that the child definitely should not hurt for 2-3 days after the visit.

Does that mean chiropractic care is bad for healthy children?....NO

your chiropractor is bad?...MAYBE

your child has a condition that was overlooked MAYBE

you should look for another chiropractor...MAYBE

Should anyone hurt for 2-3 days after seeing a chiropractor..NO

Definitely let the chiro know about it
If they say its normal then discontinue care with them. The only way it would be normal to hurt after seeing a chiropractor is if there were a muscle spasm due to different postioning of the body but not after every visit.

If your chiropractor is too rough with your child, dont ask them to be more gentle, find a better chiropractor with some sensitivity.

Another thing i would want to know is if that chiropractor has a lot of children in his/her practice. Do they have the same experience?

An easy way to find a good chiropractor for children is by referral. Find one who treats a lot of kids successfully

All the best

No child should go to the chiropractor (unless said chiropractor is the parent and they are visiting ) , especially a healthy one ! Children are still developing physically , and if there is a problem a medical dr should be seen first . Then the appropriate medical or physically theraputic applications , if any, can be used . Tell the kid to sit up straight and use good posture !

Chiropractors? A licence to print money among other things. As to why governments allow bone crackers to be called "Doctors" is only because of their incredible American marketing ingenuity - read, "very aggressive hustle" which is the foundation of America. Sell and sell hard, rugged individualism, get ahead at all costs and all that. Chiropractors represent the same in spades. They are without shame and are consummate bullshit artists. Their is the rare gem among them but do your child a favor and find an Osteopath who is actually trained in manipulation medicine if and only if he or she deems it necessary for your child's well being. Too many osteos now are cutting scripts for the most part so you may as well go to some dolt of a GP.

No one should ever go to a Chiropractor, never ever, they are the same as snake oil sellers, do yourself a favor and go to an Osteopath. Go to 100 Chiropractor's and they all start with the same BS, that your spine is out look at the curve here it should be straight, they have not a clue! Ever in an accident, when you weren't really hurt, where does the lawyer send you, yep to the Chiro Quack, he gives you some heat treatments and other BS and that is what is used in court, the lawyer never sends you to a medical doctor, like an osteopedic guy does he?

I don't think children should go to chiropractors at all!
Their bones are still forming and are softer than adults. Lots of research has been done on this subject and the results are chiropractors are not for children! It can be dangerous and have been is some cases fatal. Save your money and find a pediatrician.

I don't think a child should go to a chiropractor at ALL.

Their bones are still developing, and if she HURTS after the visits, he could be doing DAMAGE. If she is healthy, what need does she have for chiropracty? STOP TAKING her before you do irreversible damage. You could be causing her physical AND emotional damage by making her endure painful procedures for NO REASON

tell the chiropractor how she hurts and he will be easier on the child, sometimes the DR uses a little more pressure than he realizes, i go to one myself and told him to go easy and don't have any problem, yes it's good for the spine to keep it in line, especially for children.

NO FRIGGIN WAY!!! Chiropractors have their use but healthy children do not need it. The chiropractor himself should be stripped of his license.
