Do not pass go, do not collect $100 but do...Go to the healthfood store (sometimes mainstream pharmacies carry it) and buy HYLAND "teething tablets", immediately. They are tiny pills that melt in the babies mouth. Follow the directions. Babies are very drug naive (Their bodies are pure and not used to drugs). This is why when you give a baby Tylenol, it knocks them out...ZZZZ. The teething tablets will get rid of the pain quickly and the baby will not be tired, he will be happy! Pediatricians and Nurse Practitoners recommend them all the time. I do, and I also used them on both of my children when they were teething (They are 16 and 18 yrs old, now.) So the teething tablets have been around for a VERY long time. Do not give Tylenol with the teething tablets- not necessary and is redundant. P.S. After you give the teething tablets. Half a frozen bagel works, as does a "teething ring." They are filled with water that freezes and feels good on their gums. A frozen bagel works just as well. Does not fall apart, is cold, not too cold for their hands, and they get a few crumbs- yum, yum.
Do Not give babies egg yolks until your doctor says they are old enough. Many babies are very allergic.

those teething biscuits work well, hard objects help them break through and I know it will get slack but whiskey is great for numbing the gums. Trust me, your pediatricians mom used it on his gums too! The teething toys with the bumps on them that you can pop in the freezer work well too. If you rub your fingers over his gums nice and hard it helps a lot.
I thought I might explain how gums are cut so you can better understand why it takes so long for the teeth to break through. The teeth move up and down, each time they break through another layer of the gums, even after they have broken through completely they will sometime pull back a bit and then pop out for good.
Good luck hun, just know we have all been there......my mom missed out on a few though as two of us were born with two teeth! Poor thing, and she nursed us all!

Now I dont remember what these things are called. But Iused it for my son. At Walmart or really any store. There is a thing (teething bag) I used to freeze grapes and put them in this bag for him to chew on he loved the taste and it was cold on his gums. ( I know they cant have grapes yet but withthe bag they cant get anything but the juice out) it is really cool. Also I would buy big fat Carrots and let him chew on those. it is nice and hard and seemed to soothe him. Hope I could help. Good luck Teething SUCKS!!!

Hyland's Teething Tablets
frozen metal spoon
wet frozen wash cloth
ice cube or "boob cube" in a baby safe mesh feeder
stalk of cold, hard celery
get one of those "finger condom" type baby toothbrushes and massage his gums
EDITED TO ADD:
DO NOT give a 7 mos old baby an egg! It is a common allergen!!!!!

That's about it. An oldschool remedy, that may not be as socially acceptable in these times, was to take a piece of crust bread crusty bread and dip in in some sweet wine. The nawing on the bread would help allivate some of the discomfort.

I was helping my church to look after 1 year old babies and 1 mother shared with me that about steaming the egg for baby to grow teeth. You can try that.
Boil water until boiling stage, off the fire than put 1 egg into the boiling water. steam it for about 15 mins. 1 egg a day.
You may try this. She said her daughter had this problem, after she serve her boiled egg, and now she had a lot of teeth. I saw her teeth, all her milk teeth has grown.
GOD bless,

a friend of mine said she used to but a piece of ginger, or onion in a mesh bag and the the baby chew on it, I thought it sounded gross but she said it worked, and the mesh bag kept the pieces together to keep the baby from choking.
I had to to the frozen popcicle thing, the pop ice, just leave the thing closed.

This sounds horrible, but the only thing that would appease my son is a finger dipped in whiskey. If you do it, just dip your finger once in a shot of whiskey and rub the gums...then take the shot for yourself...seriously, my doctor recommended it when nothing else worked, and this did...
