Or are there any restictions regarding what can or can't be imported?

You should be able to ship to the mainland from Hawaii with little problem; however, there are restrictions on plant material going INTO Hawaii, so check with the Department of Agriculture there to find out what you can or can't bring in. I'm reasonably certain soil can't be brought in, and that seeds can; I'm not sure about plant tissue such as leaves. Hawaii, like other states, maintains a list of "noxious" weeds that cannot be brought into the state; these are generally plants that are not native to the state, and have few if any natural predators, so they have the potential to run wild if they escape into the local ecosystem. I'm including the link below.

Mucho restrictions both to and from. But it is possible if you follow the rules.
