If your talking about sweeping...the Rainbow has a broom attachment...for vacuuming and anything else they are an excellent machine.

First I think the term was sweep? I may be wrong. Your vacuum should be able to form an airpocket between the floor and carpeting in order to remove dirt efficiently. Rainbow does not do that it is a canister vac that is only designed to do above the floor cleaning ie: vacuuming furniture, drapes etc. I am not familier with the delphin. If your looking for eficient cleaning an upright would serve a better purpose for deep cleaning of carpets. A versatile Cleaning system that would allow you to do all would be the Kirby. And no I am not a sales rep either, just have owned a rainbow among others and Kirby is far more efficient and versatile.
