Speaking of the President's smiles, have you ever noticed that sh*t-eating grin he gives whenever somebody throws him off with a question he probably didn't anticipate? It happened several times during the 2004 debates with John Kerry. A more recent example happened when, at the news conference in late August, Martha Raddatz from ABC News asked him, referring to Iraq, "You keep saying you don't want to leave. But is your strategy working?"
Bush gave her the smile and chuckled slightly, as if he'd been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and said something like, "If I didn't think it was working I'd do something else."
After six years it really disturbs me now when he does that.

you believe that people must always be glum and somber? I have been to many funerals where people will remember funny circumstances of people and laughing at a time when things are very emotional and very sad helps with it all. If you are gonna judge him based on smiling and even laughing you really need to seek some professional help.

well i am sad today becuse all that happened but i am also extremely happy today because my son just turned 1 today so. but bush probally does not care and he has to smile he is a public figure

I was thinking the same but it doesnt suprise me. Its awkward for him because he feels guilty....and he should.
