Then you put in the body of your question a bunch of negativity towards formula users? Ever heard of the golden rule? Love doesn't flow out of boobs, baby girl. I have seen plenty of formula using mothers/parents that were WAY better parent's overall than breastfeeders I have observed. One breastfeeding lady showed up in the ER one night with a croupy baby. Had no issue at all with making a spectacle of herself by letting her breasts hang all out even when the child was not feeding, BUT, when the ER doctor prescribed a medicine to treat the child that had to be added to a bottle for the baby to get it all, the mother raised hell up in the ER. What kind of mother refuses to treat her child when it is that ill? The baby was 8 months but looked more like 4. It was emaciated and frail and was weak from the coughing. What a golden mom that was. My partially formula feds NEVER had croup.

If you realize there is negativity towards formula users, why are you tripping when you see it towards your little breast mafia? What goes around, comes around. What? Yall are supposed to be immune? Yeah, right. Suck it up and drive on.

If your child has an illness that can KILL them, you find a way to ensure they take the medication. End of story. That mother was a terrible mother.

i am a proud bottle feeder. i have 2 sons one is 8 the other is 3 weeks. my newborn is a galaciticimic and if i was to give him breast milk he could die or have sever learning disability's. my 8yo is also bottle fed and is in the top 1% of his class. he is very intelligent, and has had no problems since i bottle fed him. i find bottle fed babies better adjusted human beings and better with dealing with life.

Now, I don't know what medication this doctor was prescribing that baby but usually it is given by a dropper, not added to their bottle. How would you know the baby is getting everything they need when many times they don't finish the bottle?
So, either you were seeing the situation the way you wanted to see it or that doctor had a flaw or two (they are not all perfect).
Wait - you were breastfed until 10 months? You said once that your mother abandoned you when you were 3 months old.

Well...your story....
There was most likely another way to get the medication into the baby. The doctor shouldn't have assumed that the child took bottles. After all, since breastfeeding is the biological norm then that is what should be assumed.
And as for the link you posted....
Why in the heck do you feel you need to go around and post negative, nasty responses that aren't even answers to the questions that are being asked? I've read several of your "answers" today and they have been in very bad taste. THINK about the person on the other end of the keyboard before you type.

Breastfeeding to some of these women is like a religion.. Except they're not bible pushers.. they are booby pushers.. It's all about personal choice.. If you want to breast-feed.. more power to ya' sister.. but I don't need to hear about it.. I don't need you to try and make me feel guilty if I chose to bottle feed. And don't get offended when women who bottle feed get defensive and throw it to you.
I have a 4 year old son.. He was born healthy at nine and a half pounds.. I breastfed him.. and guess what? He is now lactose intolerant, has asthma, allergies, has had 9 ear infections since birth and gets sick at the drop of a dime.. So what happened? Where's my healthy baby? My breast milk just must not have been as good as some other mothers.. Damn my boobs! he is however a VERY smart child.. and I credit that to GENETICS.. and the amount of time I spent teaching him and reading to him.. I highly doubt he would have been less intelligent had I formula fed him.
Anyways.. the original point at hand... I often see these "why are you giving us breastfeeding mothers a hard time" questions.. and it is idiotic.. It in no way compares to the grief given to women who choose to bottle feed.
Just stop trying to push your boobies onto the rest of the world.. and we would all be fine...

You're a really negitive person. I answered your last question which was really mean spirited. Don't you see that you're being JUST AS JUDGEMENTAL as the women you're claiming are judgemental? Unless you know the family and the history of the family, why pass judgements like this?
Get a grip.
(BTW, some babies refuse to take bottles. You just can't make 'em. My oldest refused a bottle for two months when I went back to work. Current baby is on the same track as her sis. My girlfriend's baby refused bottles for the entire first year when she went back to work. Some babies just WONT DO IT and reverse cycle, sleeping all day and nursing all night. So to pass judgement like this is really shallow when you don't know the whole story and the baby's personality)

Is this some personal feud?
To ask an age old question:
Where exactly is the Beef my friend?
I'm sorry I might be dumb but really there are more effective ways to "rant": no offense intended.

I read the post, it seemed like a genuine question, unlike your post, and frankly most of your posts on this board today. Ifyou don't have anything helpful to add to a discussion, here's a thought: don't click on it! If someone truly is harassing others on a thread about formula feeding, click the little flag under their post. I'm sure you know how. I am also sure I'm not the only one who's reported your inappropriate posts all over the boards. ;-)

Your ok babe......my sister was one of those exhibitionist nursing moms, I wasn't. I nursed my babies, I expressed milk so others could feed them and they got formula occasionally. Basically I taught them to eat what they were given....I had a friend who never gave her son a bottle of any kind, he had to go into the hospital when she got a breast infection as he was dehydrated. She learned her lesson, I met her day I brought my baby home and the first thing she said to me was to make sure I gave my baby lots of options.
Keep up the good work I am sure you are a wonderful mommy!
