The people have suffered through two American wars in there Country since 1991. I don't think you would get any Iraqi to say the Bush family is just wonderful. 250,000 of them have been killed by the Americans, I believe it would be up to them to decide which would have been better, don't you?

I don't like to say it, but unfortunately, for the average Iraqi, I think Iraq was better off with Saddam in power. The US has taken on something they cannot control. The region is extremely destabilized and the only barrier to Iran has been removed. Stupid. Saddam hated Osama bin Laden and was a force to be reckoned with for the Iranians, so they were pretty much under control, but now, with the US so thinly spread across the world, the world is a less secure place because of the invasion of Iraq. Bad move, George, you should know which fights to pick and I think you picked the wrong one. In my opinion, Iran poses a much larger threat than Iraq did under Saddam. He could easily have been removed if he had made any moves towards causing trouble. Pre-emptive strike made the Arab world mad and that has, in turn, caused more trouble for the West in general.

It's so easy to point the finger at somebody else because there are things they do that you don't agree with or THINK you can do better. Why don't you ask the Iraqi citizens if they like their life now or when Saddam was terrorizing them?

What if America was like Iraq WAS and Iraq was like America. What would you be saying then? You would probably be BEGGING for someone to do something to the dictator causing the problems!

And before you say that Bush is a dictator:
Dictator: one ruling absolutely and often oppressively

Oppress(ively): suppress; to CRUSH or BURDEN by ABUSE OF POWER or AUTHORITY; to burden spiritually or mentally : weigh heavily upon.

We are far from seeing a President like that in our great country's history!

Clearly the country's infrastructure has suffered untold damage since the war causing hardship in the daily lives of many Iraqi's. Also, the lack of a working govt has created problems with law and order.....life is definitely harder for any Iraqi since the war but I believe that this CAN be a transient state. I think the problem going forward is whether a working govt. can be constituted so that the country does not become a failed state since this can create a haven for radical islam/fundmentalists.....I am like everyone else asking the same question...."how do we prevent this from happening"?......What do we do now????

Very good, "they are not being rounded up and slaughtered" The families of the people rounded up and slaughtered by Shiite death squads or Sunni death squads and al queda sympathizers or blown up by cars bombs etc. every single day would be surprised to hear that.

Those Iraqis that left under Saddam Iraq have settled else where and aren't flocking to back to Iraq.

But I must agree with the person who says ask them -- they would know better than us.

lets see before the war saddam is accused of killing 100,000 iraq's since the U.S invaded they have killed about 45,000 so if the dead could vote I guess right now the vote would go against saddam but wait not all the districts are in because they are still dying over there we won't have the full tally for a few years yet and I don't think this one will be going to the courts.

well, no one would like to admit it, but the fact is Iraq will NEVER be controlled now that Saddam is gone.
He was radical ... yes, he was cruel ... yes, he did few " insane " acts ... yes, but at the end of the line he knew how to control the Iraqi people, because neither the recent Govt. nor our boys over there, have got the ability to control them.

and that is " UNFORTUNATELY " is a fact !!!

When Saddam was in power tens of thousands of refugees from Iraq were drifting around the world looking for a place which would accept them. Now there are not. This clinches it for me.
