You need to say which country you're coming from. As another respondent said, if you're from the EU, it's a different process and you can come on over. If you're from the a commonwealth territory, it's simple. If you're from the US, get ready for a wait of anywhere from 1 to 5 months to get approved.

But if you're coming here to work, the fiancee visa is a completely separate visa. If you come here on a financee visa, that only gives you the right to move to the UK, not to work here. Check out this website that will give you all the details you need for working in the UK. I first came here from the US when I was sponsored by a company but I ended up sponsoring myself under the Highly Skilled Migrant Program. That process only took me under a week to get approved, believe it or not.

Get a job and a letter from your employer endorsing your
request as a full time qualified and contracted employee,
with a good background. It helps to have a degree and a
letter of recommendation be from a British company,
or a well reputed multi-national stating that they are willing
to be held responsible for your acts whilst in the UK. A
transfer from the parent company abroad will also count
in your favour.

A fiancee visa is a completely different category from a working visa... whichever one you choose to go for, it's usually advisable to apply for it BEFORE entering the UK. :-)

If you're in one of the European Union countries you don't need a visa.

If you're outside the EU then you need to apply to the British High Commission or the British Embassy in your own country. You may have to apply in person. It can be a long winded process and can end up costing a lot of money.

I don't know which country you're in but go to this page http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1007029395231 and click your country name, it will tell you how to contact your locla High Commission or Embassy.
