Because they generalize. In most cases when a mother files for child support she hasn't been getting any support from the child's father or she is a greedy *****. The good fathers that take care of their children always get f*cked over.

You want to know why? It is because the world is male dominanted society! And men viewed women as inferior and property therefore men when writing laws wrote laws to protect women (such as alimony in a divorce) because they thought women were weak, didn't work a few decades ago, and treated women bascially like children.
When women starting fighting for civil rights in the 1960s and 1970s (and even earlier decades) they won many new changes. They were able to get jobs and own their own property and vote. However 1 thing did not change which super feminists WANTED it to change. What didn't change is that women still can get alimony and child support in a divorce. And men can get child support if the child lives with them and not the woman/mother.
So if you are upset about the law seeming to favor women over men you only have yourself to blame and your ancestors. Men and women equal. Men created all the laws and put down women for so long and Women did not have the laws changed to become 100% equal in the eyes of the law. On another note women still make a little less per dollar than a man does.

According to NY law there is no bias allowed based on sex, However The statistics are what creates the bias toward women. The majority of men make more money than women, therfore they are required to pay more child support. In addition 3/4 th of children physically live with women in a divorec, requiring hte man to pay child support, because the woman bears the brunt of the physical support by herself. It is in fact society's bias toward men as wage earners that creates the bias toward women in child support. That said if you have full custody or make less than your former spouse, and you are paying more than she is, then you need a new lawyer (sorry im not available but email me and i can put you in touch with someone who is)

I've seen both sides of the coin and I concur that women have it ten times easier when it comes to non-payment. The stipulations aren't as harsh, the payments aren't as much, and most of them time heads will look the other way in a case of non-compliance, unless the father pursues it. It's almost as if our judicial system is still looking at women as these fragile beings. Apparently, "women's lib" hasn't quite been accepted by those of higher power. As for a concrete fact in why that happens...I'm afraid you'll never know unless you ask. Each case that comes before the court is different and has it own set of circumstances. Good luck on getting that answer!

Because mostly males run the government! In this day and age when someone has to pay support it should just be garnished out of their pay so there is no question that the children won't suffer!! If they quit working, then they go to jail, simple as that!! It would also cut down on these men having 2-7 kids with different women and never paying any of them. We need reform on this issue and fast!!

There is no bias. There is a guideline. It used to be, and it wasnt so long ago that...a woman takes care of the kids and doesnt earn a wage...uno, no career. Then, the man up and decides to leave and did not support her or the children and he continues to make his wages. This time he's got more money to spend on himself and a new girly. The woman was left to fend for herself and the government usually bore the brunt of this in social services. Now, they make the man responsible. Seems fair in most circumstances.

It has to do with liberals and feminists who have corrupted the legal system, and it's also called "political correctness." Men's constitutional rights have been diminished and they're often presumed either guilty until proven innocent, or guilty period with vindicative evidence not allowed into court.
An exception might that if a woman is decent, the tables could be turned and she could get the shaft.
