Yes, it is normal. I had bad back pain with both of kids. Nothing that I did helped. Try a heating pad, or a warm bath but don't put the water over your belly and don't stay in too long. Good luck!!

Yes this is normal at 5 months ...it will probably last the rest of your pregnancy too unfortunately. I would suggest taking a WARM not HOT bath and doing some mild back stretches. There are some Internet web sights that show stretching that is safe and helpful. Also you could see a chiropractor if you wanted, i have known this to be very successful. GOOD LUCK! ABSOLUTELY NO HEATING PADS...YOUR DOCTOR WOULD AGREE.

It is usually normal. You should mention this to your doctor anyways.
When I was pregnant the way i relieved my back aches was just by using pillows to prop my feet or putting a pillow between my legs and sleeping on my side.

It's normal. Your body is carrying extra weight around the middle and it's taxing your back a bit. If it gets too bad, go see a chiropactor (mine did wonders for me when I was pregnant). For now, an excercise ball could help ease your pain. Sitting on it while watching tv or being on the computer could help you out. They are also recommended to help ease the pain of contractions (both real and Braxton-Hicks).
Good luck!

I am 6 months pregnant, I know where you are coming from...
try this---
at night I could not get comfortable ..my back ached relentlessly..
So I put a little throw pillow under my tummy when I was lying on my side and it helped to take the pressure off of my back as I was lying down....
I hope this helps-- Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

Yes, it's normal try a nice relaxing bubble bath, or if you have one of those bean sacks things that you can put in the microwave and warm it up then lay and watch a movie or TV that's really relieving.

OMG, I'm 5 months too and I'm going through that same thing. Everybody says it will get worse, which doesn't help at all. I have tried the following:
1. Massages from my husband.
2. warm towel for 10 minutes, then a cold towel for 10 minutes
it has helped a lot....I hope I helped you

Yes it is because you body is out of alignment due to your baby. Back rubs may help. Try using a pillow between and behind your knees while lying on back or side.
