Depends how old he is.
Young teenager boys tend to look at naked women.

I have several customers whereby the home computer appears to be running slow.

The parents have little or no knowledge on how to operate the machine, but little Johnny has managed to cram the hard drive with password protected files.

All the kids school work is unprotected and can be read. I generally leave that alone and all the other stuff I clean off.

I tell the parents the computer had a virus and they are non the wiser. I tell the kid to be more careful.

Because the nature of media has changed. In your day the TV and radio had all the entertainment. These days the medium is the net. He can find things that interest him (skateboarding, music, girls etc) 24/7 rather than waiting for the weekly show. The net is the TV / radio / cinema / newspaper / telephone / noticeboard / clubhouse / encyclopedia of the 21st century. It's like going to Sainsburys for information, stuff from all around the world in one place, but shopping with you freinds, all the time. The consumerism high satisfied for free.

Computers don't damage your eyes. The world is changing and people are spending all of their time in the digital world. It is bad because he will get less exercise and interact less with real people. It is good because he can be better informed and more knowledgeable. If you don't like that he is online then tell him to stop.

normally there are a few things first he has not got many friends try interacting with him find a sport you both can do. could be he is enjoying eBay chat rooms or even talking to friends from school or work and last porn I know but it's true and alot is free. What ever it is try to understand as long as he is happy and not doing anything illegal don't worry too much. Try and limit him too a few hours as his eyes may cause problems looking at the monitor for long periods

Don't be in such a rush to knock your sons hobby, yes there are better things he could be doing with his time but there are many worse (taking drugs, arson, burglary, vandalism ect ). In the light of your son is doing what he enjoys and you know he is safe, MAYBE there isnt a problem.

Probably because he likes the internet and chatting and has unlimited time online. If you limit his time online then he won't spend so much time infront of it.

He's probably looking at porn or hanging out on MySpace. Don't try to stop him, one day he'll grow up to be a successful web Entrepreneur ;)
