Classic rock-hounds would say 7:
Cubic: Diamond, Garnet, Spinel, Fluorite, Etc.
Tetragonal: Zircon, Scapolite, Etc.
Trigonal: Ruby, Sapphire, Amethyst, Citrine, Tourmaline, Etc.
Hexagonal: Emerald, Aquamarine, Apatite, Etc.
Orthorhombic: Topaz, Peridot, Chrysoberyl, Iolite, Etc.
Monoclinic: Diopside, Jade, Malachite, Etc.
Triclinic: Turquoise, Kyanite, Labradorite, Etc.
Academics would say six. These are cubic, tetragonal, rhombohedral (also known as trigonal and includes hexagonal), orthorhombic, monoclinic and triclinic.

There are seven crystal shapes. The simplest and most symmetric is the cubic system, then in order of decreasing symmetry, are hexagonal, tetragonal, trigonal, orthorhombic, monoclinic and triclinic. Some scientists consider that the hexagonal crystal system is a part of the trigonal crystal sytem.
so, the answer is:
C. six
