A day to remember, honour and appreciate the role of teachers in our lives. Infact, 5th September is the birthday of the first president of India and a great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962, some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate September 5, as his "birthday''. In reply Dr. Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers' Day''. The request showed Dr Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, the day has been celebrated as Teachers' Day all over the country.

Why do you READ?
Why do you THINK of thinking of such a question?
