Where I was on 9/11/01...
I was going to court to get guardianship of my mom. She had Alzheimer's and was declared legally incompetant. I couldn't stand the state of NC owning my mother, so I retired from the Army and came to NC to take care of her. When we were walking to court from the lawyer's office, the first plane had struck and it was still thought to be an accident. How the world had changed by the time I walked out of court that day....

I was online doing something and my daughter came running and yelling....she said that some bad man had flown a plane into a building and killed our people. At first I didn't believe her, but she turned up the tv and I heard all the commotion. I went running, just in time to see the second plane hit and it was live. It was the most horrible sight I'd ever seen. We just prayed and waited to hear from our soldier. I don't think we left the tv that day.
I do think it's time to move on though. We must NEVER forget, but it's time to live and create a monument so that they'll be remembered forever. There's so much new life out there and there's a war on terror that we must focus on and win.
God bless America and all our troops!!
Best wishes and blessings to the survivors of 9/11 and all the families who lost someone that tragic day!!
EDIT: Yes, I listened to the clip before I replied. It's a beautiful song. I remember listening to Alan talk about how he composed that song. He had tears in his eyes as he talked about it. He's a true talent and it's a wonderful tribute.

That occassion does move me. I remember on 9/11/01 I woke up at 7 am turned on the news to see the second plane hit the second twin tower. I had no idea what was goign on till the news person announced what happened. I will never forget that day, I truly hope that the government wont forget either. I believe this could have been prevented had they government listened to the warnings in advance.

9/11 was a tragedy, no doubt about it. We need to celebrate the survivors now instead of still mourning the dead. We need to show those that would attack that we won't dwell on our greif and that in the end things like this only unite us as a people and country.

I was watching good morning America and observed a moment of silence each time. I also wore red/white/blue today as did my son. I also wrote with glass chalk on my back car window
9-11 REMEMBER!!..I think they should show the towers falling every damn day on the news. We must never forget or stop remembering!
