It seems that studies show all home sapiens (people) originated in Africa and if you visit the National Geographic Genographic website, they have a project up to trace your DNA and it's path all the way back to one African Dude.

when humans began to evolve - the world layout was different - ie youd have to look at the positioning of plates instead of say india...
