Diana, Princess of Wales' former butler has accused Princes William and Harry of failing to defend her memory.

Paul Burrell told an American TV show he had written a second book about the Princess because he wanted to tell the truth about the person she was.

Isn't this man insulting both these young men who lost their mother, and by association, her, as well?

Isn't he just an egomaniac who is making money out of her death?

I'm no royalist, but his behaviour is despicable. Do you agree?

I agree completely I think he is a money grabbing scum bag who makes a big issue of what is lets face it a total load of hogwash. I am sure there is not a day goes by when the two princes don't think about their mother and it must be especially hard during birthdays Christmas etc. The fact they are not publishing books getting column space in the tabloids or going on TV to bang on about it, in my mind makes them stronger people.
Mr. Burrell can only get away with these Fairy stories in America where he is viewed to be a proper English Butler. Whereas In England you would hope he would be shot down in a mass of verbal and physical hatred.
It's very easy to make up stories about dead people as they are no longer around to accept or deny the allegations. And to be honest that's exactly what the so called butler and friend is doing.
It would be nice to see him donate some of the money he's made from Diana's death to one of her chosen charities, after all he's done pretty well out of it. One way or another!!!!

I have never read anything that man has said he made enough money out of the late princess. He on tours in the USA etc. Even on the QUE2 giving lecture about the late princess. He never knows when to keep his mouth shut. He claims he doing to keep the princess memory alive. Pure rubbish. He in it for the money, as a butler he should keep his mouth shut. Funny when Diana died he was the board of truetees with the late princess Diana sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Minister Gordon Brown, he was always hated by Lady Sarah. and by the Spencer family. Another reason I believe he has book out is Lady Sarah Bradford has book out at the same time. What a coincidence that both books should be out now! Pity someone doesn't write about Paul Burrell past. The fact he had a gay affair before he was married in the navy. A quote from this Mr Pead, an antiques dealer, told the News of the World that Mr Burrell had sneaked him into Buckingham Palace and that they had "sex on his bed with a picture of the Queen over it" after they met in 1980. Mr Burrell was a footman for the Queen at the time.

"I was immediately accepted as Paul's partner by all the other male palace servants, most of whom were also gay," he said. "They were happy Paul had found someone."

Mr Burrell had also written to him revealing sensitive day to day working within the palace

If he was so special to the princess, would she not have arranged for him to be looked after? He's deluded if he thinks that he was so close to her. I fully agree that his behaviour is despicable and should be called to answer for the way he is acting.
The worst thing is, people will buy the book in their millions, making him even more rich with blood money, qualifying him as a real commentator on Diana's life, death and memory.

I love the way he comes over as the careing for Diana fella then shoots her sons down in flames.
Wil and Harry say nothing about there mother because they have pride and respect and don't want to get in a media scrum.
That's respect for Diana not spouting c rap all the time.

Has anyone stopped to think that since he was the one she spent most time with maybe he IS the only one who knew the "REAL" Diana.
Her family, Spencers, & the royal family were all fairly distant by her own admission in interviews. The boys were too young to really know her that well & the royal family were not really "Her" family.
Everyone needs someone they can confide in so why not the man who shared her life & home even if it was as an employee.

Yes he is out to make as much money as he can. But he is probably also secretly subsidised by the royalist mafia to destroy Diana's memory, while prettending to defend her. It has been rather obvious at the beginning and it is glaringly obvious now.

He is a snake in the grass.

The "Royals" sponge off of our tax`s so why bother if Burrell makes money out of them?
And if the yanks love our Royals so much let them pay for them!
Surfdom died out years ago in this country yet people still live in awe of a lothesome family of Germans and Greeks!
Hope you make millions out of the Royals Mr Burrell

He should be shot. Period.
I know - that may read pretty petty, but seems he will not have to lift his hand to do honest work again in his wee existence - what saddens me is that he's from the North. The people I met whilst I was at uni at Manchester did have leanings toward royalty, and would defend to the death! This sweetheart is pure scuzz, I'm afraid! Her wee bairns must be brokenhearted to learn that he's going to cash in again.

May be he should be shot for being a royalist but not for treason. Yes he is despicable but the subject is boring and for those reasons I wont be buying his book.

No. That's no reason to shoot him. If people didn't but his books then he wouldn't write them and wouldn't get rich. Obviously a lot of people like what he writes and would not agree with you. Personally I wouldn't read his books. I think he is little better than a nasty germ. Typical journalist - short on morals high, on hubris.
