No, and it's been shown to be statistically accurate.

They've said that here in the United States for ages. I was just thinking about that the other day. Don't know if I agree with it, but personally I think they need to update their statistics. I'd say it's more like 1 in every 7 or maybe even 1 in 5. Don't know about the UK, but isn't homosexuality even more accepted there?

Well folks there we have it, a great load of answers and not one the same! Lies damn lies and statistics!
All I would like to add is that as a Gay man I don't honestly think the 1 - 4 % figure is accurate, well either that or this particular part of scotland has an unusually large cluster of gays!

You are not the only one. The 2001 census questionairre included the topic of orientation and how one identifies, the surprising stats came out as follows:
11.24% homosexual
27.98% bisexual
5.34% assexual
55.44% heterosexual

Interesting I'd say.

Update: Look yohan m, just because ID themselves as Bisexual or even Assexual does not mean they are living completely that way. They simply answered that way. You're bias and bigotry are showing. As others here have also stated, Homosexual or Gay can also mean Trans, Lesbian etc. So, sorry, we're here and we're being counted, too bad for you.

I think that just applied to the royal family and the house of lords. I keed i keed, it also included the commons.

Actually that myth has been floating around for some time and not just about the UK. It has been shown to be just that a myth. Most modern studies have concluded that between 2-4% of men are gay.

sorry it's not. as another guy said, modern studies have come up with stats ranging from 1% to 4%. 10% is wishful thinking. you're more likely to have read it because you read pro-gay publications

the census quoted up there is an absolute lie. 3 million asexuals? 27% of british people identify as bisexual? no

this has been around for a long time. In fact I think there's a NGO in America that's called 10% or something similar.
