The twin towers were one of the greatest monuments representing the US. Plus do to the fact that it was the World Trade Center doesn't help the fact that it was a prime target to take out ones revenge. They attacked there knowing that it would startle the entire US and kill many innocent people. Planes would be stopped for a while and the US would take a long time to recover from the fact that they were just attacked. Honestly I think someone should take over for president because Bush isn't doing very good. No offense Bush lovers but thats my opinion and I have every right to it.

While the twin towers were the highest targets, they were not the ONLY targets. The Pentagon was hit and some believe that if Flight 93 had not crashed, that was aimed for the White House. So in my opinion, these targets were chosen because they represent our economy and our military and our President. No matter how one feels about President Bush, he is the leader of the strongest nation on earth. If he were killed, there may have been a collapse of the government. If he was their target, they should have known he was in FLORIDA.

probably because the twin towers were high profile buildings ! . Being one of the tallest thise terrorist were hoping to wipe out the most amount of innocent people they could ...two planes hitting into two towers near to each other I guess they figure would have a large impact . Its ashame what hatred can cause people to do .

what i have heard was because it was a symbol of our nation and everyone knew where the twin towers were and what they were for. that they were there only for 29 years and the idea of how they pick the date 9/11 is that 2+9=11 that is what i heard

Besides the obvious reason (being somewhat of an American monument), it was intricately tied with the U.S. economy. Many large scale businesses/corporations were headquartered there (I believe). It damaged international trust in the U.S. economy when they were destroyed.
Let’s also not forget the costs of cleaning up after they fell.
Though their goal was to ruin the U.S. economy and moral, and to some degree they have, I do not believe it will be permanent. Many nations have gone through worse (Germany, Japan, China, etc…) and come out better then they were before. So let’s just hope we can use this to better our nation. We may not be doing that now, but we can change that.

The "World" trade centers is kind of like saying NY or at least the NY is the center of the world. I think that perceived arrogance offended that group of radical terrorist. They targetted us twice there that we know about. So obviously they had some disdain for it.
They were also huge and all our major press is right there. They wanted the world to see what they did.
That's all I can come up with it. They are a sick group of people.

First, Its a world renowned landmark that it will surely make a big news worldwide. second, Its very visible , big and no obstruction so it will be easier to hit by a plane. third, its a financial district so it will surely affect big time. And maybe prophecy has something to do with it.. its like the blueprint for sick psycho people. So who ever did this, im sure its a big timer too who wants big attention

possible plus the plane crash elsewhere /I m afraid I don't remember where exactly .
It was a very tragic loss of life caused by the Devils Disciples .
