I have read both 3% and 10%. Which is correct? Or is it that 3% is L or G, but 10% are GLBT?

It isn't known for sure. The estimates say anywhere between 5-7% on the low end to around 12% on the high end. I don't believe there has been a breakdown on the actual numbers of gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered(although it could be reasonably assumed that the transgendered would be the smallest percentage of the groups).

It's hard to say because it often depends on what source you are using. My guess is that at the very least, homosexuality is probably in the 10% range. However, I think that the incidence of bisexuality (especially among males) is much, much higher. My guess is between 20-25%. Bisexual males are the very large, yet minority population among us.

Unless you get to know them quite well, most pass as heterosexuals -- and they seem to like it that way.

So many people are closeted and repressed. I would say that one in nine is LGBT....just like those who are left handed 1 in 9! If I could only express how many 'straight' looking guys have come on to me. It should be noted that most people will have a homo experience in their lifetime.

The 10% figure often quoted is if you take everyone who has EVER had ANY kind of contact with someone of the same sex, and lump them together with a blanket designation of "homosexual".

More recent and accurate studies put the number of active, practicing homosexuals and bisexuals at between 2 and 5%.

I havent participated in any statisitics. the problem with these things is that you can never get a true represntation. as for all women being bisexual- i can agree with you there slightly.
I dated this biosexual girl(wont do it ever again). she told me that she sleeps with women for the pleasure aspect of it all; and men because of their money... she put me off bisexual women for life...

It is estimated that approximately ten percent of the U.S. population or 25 million people are homosexual.
