we had a wet spot on our carpet in the basement. We had it dried out and with a dehumidifier on it has stayed dry. The setting is at 35 and the resevoir fills about every 24 hours. Is this to low? What is a good setting?

The setting will vary with the condition of the space where the unit is used(how humid?). Try to maintain a 45-50% humidity level. How often it needs to be dumped will depend on your space humidity + infiltration from outside,,:-)=

Dry is always good but 45-50% humidity should be fine. I usually set mine to about 45%. It goes as low as 40% but I think 50% would be OK.
