The filters that detect Spam are not always correct and sometimes a spam e-mail gets over the filter. You cannot always asure that all spam will be sent to the Bulk folder but you can always send them so you don't get them next time.

Here is how:
To block an address as spam or just to block annoying e-mails follow these steps:

# [1] Instructions: Yahoo! Mail Beta:
→ Log in to your Yahoo! account
→ Go to your Inbox and select the e-mail which came from the address you want to block
→ After you have selected the message, click Spam.
.... This should do it, if not then follow the number [3] instructions]

# [2] Instructions: Yahoo! Mail old version:
→ Log in to your Yahoo! account
→ Go to your Inbox and select the e-mail which came from the address you want to block
→ Above is a small "toolbar" and click Mark as Spam

# [3] Instructions: These instructions are for any version of Yahoo! Mail:
→ Log in to your Yahoo! account
→ On your upper-right hand, click Options
→ Under Spam section, click on Spam Protection
→ Under Hamlet select both boxes
These steps will do it :)

You get Spam because your email address is used for almost everything you do on the net. Using it to register at websites, chat rooms etc. There are Large Spammer that have programs that scan the Net and site for email addresses. They then send a spam and use some trick to have you confirm your email address. Sometimes this is done by emailing you with an email that looks to be from a legit service like Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL or a major company. They will use HTML graphics and if you allow the Graphics to be displayed your email address will be confirmed to them. Your address will then be added to a list and sold to other spammers.

Any of your friends that have spyware on their computers can give your email address to spammers. Microsoft and the other big Security companies like symantec, CA, McAfee and many others say that 80% of all computers are infected with spyware. This is usually because people think they can avoid infection if they are careful on the net and don't use protection. If they have AV and AS programs it's usually not enough. Most of the people that have protection use only one AS program. This helps a little. All the Security experts agree that at least 3 active AS programs are needed.

Do a Google search for "How to prevent Spam". You will be surprised by what you find and learn.

Yahoo Mail Plus offers an AddressGard option that is great for stopping new spam. This allows you to have 10 active disposable email addresses. You use these for all your website registering etc. If you start getting spam addressed to the disposable address you simply delete the address and make a new one. I give the Disposable addresses to people I do not know well and absolutely trust. This is the single best thing you can do to stop spam. It is worth the fee for Mail Plus all by itself.

Spam filter is the only way. Yahoo has one, just turn it on. It works most of the time.

I don't believe you can stop spam...
I get at least a hundred "spams" a day and I just delete them unopened out of my junk mail..
