I went to the bookstore yesterday and they were advertising that Dr. Phil's wive was going to be doing a book signing. Why is she writing a book? What does she know about other than housing Dr. Phil's member every so often? At least Dr. Phil has some degrees.
I am not just poking fun at the Dr. Phil family but it just seems more and more common these days.

Who are you to say that Dr. Phil's wife can't write a book just because her husband is a celebrity? Maybe she is actually fully capable and intellectually prepared to write one. Why not cite someone like Paris Hilton who is only famous b/c her daddy's rich? She has no talent, but maybe some celebrity family members do.

Because this world is based on "who you know". If you know or are a relative to a celebrity then you feel you should be acknowledged for that and treated just like celebrities.

Probably they like their relatives celebrity life and they want one too.By using their fame they try to accomplish something but they fail miserably and make fool out of themselves.And you know the fun part?They don`t realize it,they think they`re successful...

Couldn't agree more! It's fair enough if they are famous in their own right (Gwyneth Paltrow's mother was also an actress and Gwyneth is famous in her own right) but when it's just for the sake of saying 'I'm related to...' then I don't understand.

well cause she can also there are writers that do signings that are not famous maybe besides being his shadow she does have a great story or is smart i even know some people that prefer her rather than her husband.
