Maybe you just need to increase the rise from the tree. It might be too short.

I have the wide bars on my Screamin' Eagle Fat Boy, and stock wide grips are right on the money for me.

If you get out enough on the Road King, you will get used to the handle bars distinct difference.

And if you're just a whiner, you could always go to the "Rice Burner" guys and Honda up cowboy.

Depends whats comfortable to you: Go to Harley & sit on a few bikes. Fatboy bars are like yours, but not as far out. Electaglides & Heritage bars come up a little higher (makes turning easier). You can always put a set of risers on to bring the bars up to where you like them.

Sit on your bike with your eyes closed and reach out with your hands. That will give you an idea of where you would like the ends of the bars to be. Check with Flanders and find a set with the dimensions that would get you there. I don['t know if Flanders has a web site with handlebar dimensions but your dealer will have it. You can also sit on other bikes like, all of the other RK models.

unless you want to do a lot of work, stick with something that doesn't require you to modify the cables (super tall, pulled back, hidden wires....) talk to people that already have them. its impossible to pick bars and seats with out trying them on. good luck

go with the FLHT 2" pull backs; it will save your back and take the strain out of your forearms
