I hear you. We are an education driven society. Know this, all the successful people don't necessarily have degrees. The individual who started the MacDonald's franchise had a grade twelve education! It's not the education that determines success, it's what people do with the education that is the determining factor.
So, to answer your question, no, you don't need a degree to be successful. You do need to define what "success" means to you. Climbing the career ladder may make you successful in other people's eyes, but will this make you happy? Will more money make you happy?
You need a vision, goals, determination, success "programming". These are skills you can learn. It's up to you to make it happen.

I know several people who have risen to top positions, yes - even Managing Director - without having any degrees. What companies normally look at is whether you can deliver the goods or not. The President of a corporation once told me that he gives the incumbent everything that he asks for by way of facilities, lets him have a free hand, and if finally it is obvious that he can't do the job, then he fires him.
It is only if you are aspiring to be the President of a University that a doctoral degree is considered essential by most universities, though not all.

No No No I have 2 degree's and don't use either one. Put myself into debt with student loans to keep up with the friends... now I actually make more money than they do and doing it without the degree. Soooo I think it is your personal drive that will help you. My father was a millionaire with only 11 years of education. Same goes for JP GETTY and many many other success-full business men/women.

Personally I think a degree only makes it harder, (Although they are probably right). If the job requires a degree, I would try to get one part time. If it doesn't require a degree wait till the one who promotes you, or promoted you, says, "You need a degree." I think College is over rated if you have no hands on experience. You obviously are doing great without the college. They are probably jealous, becasue they spent thousands on college and you made it there without spending all that money.

First of all YOU ARE THE MAN! For the most part yes you need a degree. My advice don't listen to people telling you what you can't do.If you do decide to get a degree try someplace like University of Phoenix on-line.

No, you do not need a degree to be successful. There are tons of people out there who are very successful and have never stepped foot in a college. I believe it is life experiences that makes you who you are and how far you will go in life. You can do anything you set your mind on.

I think sometimes Big companies want you too, but seriously I am convinced that in this country is who you know, not what you know. I have worked with the biggest morons ever only because they knew or were family of the big shots who drink coffee or are at the NBA games while I had to be at work working my *** off. I sound bitter don't I? Good luck !!

Many successful people did not have degrees. I believe that a positive attitude and thirst for knowledge more than make up for a degree.

Having a degree won't guarantee success, but it certainly can't hurt! It might not be a bad idea to go back and earn the piece of paper, just to say you have it. And who knows -- you might even learn something new!
