Take good clear nail polish and polish the underside of it. It works pretty good. Of course you'll need to re-do it periodically.

Wash your hands and dry them thoroughly. Make sure your hands don't get sweaty that'll activate the "green" look the cheap ring causes. Maybe put a little powder underneath on your finger before putting on ring. And paint the inside of the ring with clear nail polish.

Put on hand cream with glycerin it it, making sure you rub it in where the ring sits. This creates a barrier between your skin and the ring. I like Moisture Therapy hand cream by Avon.
