i need a graphics card for my pc but which ones is good and has smooth graphics my pc make is emachines 170 my processer is 1.70ghz and its agp which card will be compatible wiith my mother board any ideaS?

I would reccomend getting a new pc. 1.7Ghz isnt much anymore. If you can't afford to though get a Nvidea 6600. It won't be worth paying the extra for the 6600gt though with the processor you have.

Also look into the ATI Raedon 9800pro.

You'll also need some new RAM if you only have the orginal 128Mbs it came with. You'll need at least 512Mbs on todays games.

Well Agp is about dead and a 1.7ghz Celeron is terrible for gaming.. but anyway i'd add more ram if you still have the original 128mb. Your computer can hold up to 2gb of ram so i'd add 1gb of ram and a 6600gt and you'd be able to play games alot better then you can now.

both ati and nvidia should be compatible. one of the earlier nvidia geforce fx cards should be within your budget, get one of them and buy more ram as well. make sure your agp slot is 8x to match your new video card
